Field Maintenance

When

you

go

to

the

field

to

enjoy

a

beautiful

day

of

sun

and

flying,

you

may

not

realize

what

goes

into

maintaining

our

facilities.

Many

of

us

may

take

for

granted

that

we

have

one

of

the

best

flying

fields

in

the

Tidewater

area.

A

lot

of

talented

and

motivated

people

are

responsible

for

this.

We

have

at

least

one,

if

not

2,

working

days

every

year

to

perform

most

of

the

big

jobs

like

painting.

There

are

people

working

all

the

time

that

do

specific

things;

Mark

Ward

likes

to

cut

grass

so

he

takes

care

of

most

of

the

cutting,

Larry

Woolard

manages

the

field

and

road

leases,

Mark

Schneier

takes

care

of

the

signs,

and

on

and

on....there

are

too

many

to

list.

We

have

attached

a

spreadsheet

with

the

latest

projects,

the

responsible

person,

and

the

status

of

each

project.

All

members

are

encouraged

to

volunteer

and

are

actually

required

to

participate

according

to

our

bylaws.

So

the

next

time

you

see

an

improvement

at

the

field,

remember

it didn't magically happen....a TRC member made it happen!

Thanks, and enjoy the best hobby in the world!
